Supporting Wellbeing and Mental Health
Coronavirus support and guidance for looking after yourself and your mental health.
During these unprecendented times of the Covid 19 outbreak, our mental wellbeing can be challenged. Please see the uploaded documents signposting support.
Samaritans Guidance during the Covid 19 Outbreak
Around three children in every primary school class has a mental health problem, and many more struggle with challenges from bullying to bereavement.
At Stanground St John's Primary School, we take children's mental health and wellbeing seriously. We discuss how we can keep ourselves well as part of our curriculum and our daily routines. Examples of this are: greeting children daily; using 'blob trees' (to facilitate the expression of feelings) and lolly stick boxes (acknowledging big and small worries and emotions); alongside celebrating events, such as Purple Day and Find Your Brave week. We also have extensive wellbeing support through our Learning Mentor and SEND team.
