Homebased Learning



In order to minimise disruption to children's learning, please do your utmost to support them with the following educational activities.  All are of a good quality and have been selected to best support the needs of this year group.    They are all also free to use, but may require passwords that have been sent home, either as individual cards or via Marvellous Me.

Please keep in touch with us through Seesaw - you must activate both the child and parent account. Download the 'Seesaw Class'; app for your child to access their journal, and the 'Seesaw Family' app to log in as a parent.  Please log in at

Daily Learning:


  • 30 mins reading 
  • Spelling practice (these will be set on a Friday, linked to previous phonics learning)
  • Phonics practice - all phase 3 and phase 5 digraphs/trigraphs
  • High frequency words - regular practice of reading and spelling, sent as a hard copy
  • Handwriting practice  - following guidance sheet sent as a hard copy and additional practice sheets uploaded weekly as a guide


  • Number bonds and facts 
  • Mathletics activities will be set for completion and there is a vast choice of additional tasks (with individual log-ins)

Set Learning Tasks:

To complement these core daily activities, we will be setting specific learning activities, uploaded below.  The Pixl tasks have explanatory Powerpoints, but are password protected.  Please find the password via a Marvellous Me message.

Before 9.00

Wake up

Make (or help with) your own breakfast and eat it. Get dressed. Make your own bed, brush your teeth for 2 minutes, help with washing/folding clothes.

Outdoor/Fresh Air

Play outside, go on a mini-beast hunt, create patterns and pictures with natural objects, plant flowers or vegetables, ride on your bike or scooter. As a family, leave the house for your one session of exercise.

4.30 – 5.00

Free Time


5.00 – 6.00

Dinner Time

Help to prepare your meal and help set the table. Eat as a family. Help with the washing up and tidy away.

6.00 – 8.00

Family Time / TV

Family movie night, play games together, share what you have enjoyed about the day, discuss what you would like to do tomorrow, contact any family members you haven’t been able to see, write a journal/diary of your day.


Bedtime Routine

Bath/Shower, brush your teeth for 2 minutes. Get ready for bed and share a story together.
