Our Learning - Literacy and Numeracy
SUMMER TERM
Numeracy -
This half term we will be working on our addition and subtraction skills. Also, our ability to tell the time. During these units all children will be attempting to meet particular targets. Please see the table below which outlines what the children should be able to do during year one.
| Adding | WALT – Add any one digit number to numbers up to 20. |
| Subtracting | WALT – Subtract any one digit number from numbers up to 20. |
| Telling the time | WALT – Read the time to the nearest hour and half hour. |
Please note that targets are adapted to meet the needs of individual children.
Literacy –
Our class target in literacy is to use describing words in our writing.
We will work hard to understand what describing words are and then put them in the postcards, riddles and stories we write.
