Our Learning
Throughout the year, the children will be working towards various targets linked to their learning. This term, in Literacy, they will be working on using connectives to link sentence ideas together. They will be linked to time such as, before, after...The children will also be consolidating sentence structure, so will be working on writing in sentences and checking that they make sense. If you wish to help your child with this, look for examples in their reading books and talk to them about what a sentence is.
In Numeracy, the children are working on number recognition place value and ordering, leading to addition. They will be using number lines to assist as well as using place value to partition numbers and add the tens first.
In the Summer term, the children will be assessed for their end of year SATS. These are carried out quite informally and during the year, assessments from their teaching and learning will form part of the final level. In fact, last year’s children didn’t even realise that they were doing work for the SATS, apart from it being “special work”!
