Open Assembly Tuesday 9th October 2012

The Assembly was lead by Mrs Sheridan, Assistant Head, and started with the children singing about life being a masterpiece of colour, an ever changing picture, a symphony of sound, a miracle of motion and a kaleidoscope of wonders.

Mrs Sheridan picked up from Miss Phillips assembly theme the previous day - children are the best. Mrs Sheridan handed out letters of the alphabet to children who formed a human line of the alphabet.

When the whole school called out the letters they discovered that U was missing. Mrs Sheridan explained just as the alphabet is not complete without the letter U Stanground St Johns School is not complete without YOU (the children).

Three girls from York and Winchester Class, Elle, Chloe and Alyssa, showed us their certificates, medals and trophy awarded by Theatre Train after their performances at The Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 23rd September. Elle and Alyssa have won part funded scholarships and Chloe has won a full scholarship for the year. Other children from Stanground St Johns School were also presented with certificates at the presentation last weekend. Well done to these very talented budding actors and actresses.

The assembly finished with Kieran of York Class reading a prayer thanking God for our teachers and friends helping to guide us through school and asking God to help us all work hard and have a happy day.

Thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to visit our school today. The children are always very excited to show their work and enjoy seeing you all there. We love having visitors and thank everyone very much for taking the time to give the comments below:
