Epiphany around the World - 6th January

We spent a fantastic Friday, exploring the different ways Christian communities celebrate the Twelfth Day of Christmas.  Children were able to explore the meaning behind the Epiphany and join story-telling, songs and crafts from different countries, several of which have have been home to our children and staff, such as Romania, Poland and Cyprus. In Reception, the children explored the tradition in countries where they share 'king cakes' or 'galettes des rois'.  A figurine or pea is hidden in a cake and the person who receives this portion is king or queen for the day.   The lucky pair were Delilah and Cory, who celebrated with a post-banquet dance!
